To ensure that you have a good start to your studies, we offer a preliminary course for first-year students of computer science. In three coordinated formats you will be optimally prepared for your first semester of computer science:
The preliminary course for the winter semester 2021/2022 begins on August 30. Up-to-date information on the preliminary course will always be available here.
Here you will find all information concerning the organization of your studies. Where will the first lecture be held? What do I have to pay attention to? What are the names of the professors? What does the student council do? How do I get around campus? What support services are available?

You haven’t found a good way to get started in programming yet? Then you are right here! We offer you an exciting introduction to programming. By the end of the course, you will have learned a programming language and its underlying logic and written your own first program.

- Preliminary Course Mathematics (Weeks 3 – 6):
You didn’t have an advanced math class? No problem! In the preliminary math course , we refresh your math skills and prepare you for university math for computer scientists. Since mathematics in college differs in many ways from the mathematics you learned in school, we strongly recommend that you attend the preliminary course. This is also a good way to get to know the format of lectures and exercises that is typical for university education.
